Davis of 115 Reference Granville County Abstracts of Court Minutes 1818-1820, page 284 and Granville County Guardian Accounts, 1815-1823, pp 57, 60, 67. In the abstracts William Blackwell is appointed guardian of the orphans of James Heggie, William, Polly, Emily, Archibald, Elizabeth, Thomas, and Caroline Heggie. There is no mention of a John.
