I am trying to trace my Heggie line in Fife, Scotland. I was born in Fife (and still live there) in 1949, my father was born in 1915 he was John Heggie and had two sisters Isobel & Margaret, their mother & father was Peter Heggie born 1877 in Strathmiglo, Fife his wife was Janet Fleming born 1874, Peter was one of 12 children the oldest Isabella born 1867, George born 1869, Angus born 1871, James Smart born 1873, Robert born 1876, Margaret born 1880, William born 1882, John born 1884, Jane bell born 1886, Mary Ann born 1886, and Agnes born 1889, their parents were George Heggie born 1847 in Strathmiglo, Fife and his wife Jane Smart born circ 1847, George's mother was Margaret Miller his father is reputed to be William Heggie although they were never married.
