Hegg family from Norway in 1853 > WI > Decorah, IA
Ole Hansen Hegg and Kari Arnesdatter emigrated from Lier, Norway in 1853 on the Bark Tegner. They first settled in Norway, Wisconsin, staying at the Heg Barn. They settled in Decorah, Iowa on a farm in Springfield Township. The Hegg family has been on this particular farm for 150 years. Ole and Kari had 10 children: Larine (Abrahamson), Hans Andres Oleson, Anton Oleson, Cecilla (Sivesind), Gustav A. Olsen, Ole Christian, Martin Oleson, Marie (Skofstad), Nicoline Olesdatter (Jacobson), and Johan Hegg. The youngest, Johan, is my great-grandfather.
I'm interested in corresponding with anyone researching this Hegg family.
