I look forward to hearing more about this J. L. Hefner family per your grandmother. Did J. L. Hefner possibly move to Montgomery County, Arkansas in 1910? He is a widower and states he was b ca 1837 Tennessee and his parents were born in North Carolina. One of Daniel Hefner's children did move to Tennessee. While we have no documented proof about Frederick Hefner of Lincoln/Buncombe Co NC being the progenator of Daniel and David Hefner families of Buncombe Co. NC they did seem to move together. The families of Daniel Hefner, Samuel Hefner and David Hefner in Buncombe Co NC are genetically related for sure per recent Hefner/Heffner DNA testing. David Hefner is definitely a 67/67 match with the Berks County, Pennsylvania family of John George Heffner and his father. http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/h/hefner/results.html http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/h/hefner/pats.html http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/h/hefner/disc.html http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/h/hefner/index.html A DNA test of a male Hefner relative would be a great way to spend the 2008 "stimulus" check!
