I Wonder if Johann Hefner may be the brother or cousin of a Melchoir/Melcar Hefner? They are from the same area of Germany, but came to America about 10 years apart.
You said you had info on Johann's family in North Carolina and I was wondering if there is a Thomas Hefner married to a Mary L or S Tilman anywhere in that line? My husbands grandmother was Anna Hefner from Cape Girardeau, Mo. her father was Munroe or Monroe Hefner son of Thomas and Mary. I found an 1880 Census listing saying that Thomas was born in Missouri in 1847, and that his father was born in North Carolina and his Mother was born in Kentucky. At that point I come to a dead end and I do not know who is the father of Thomas. I would greatly appreciate any info you could give me. Thanks, Suzanne
