Charles, the Hefners also spelled their name Haeffner. John George Haeffner arrived in Pennsylvania August 28, 1733. The ship was called Hope. The original spelling of the elder John George was Johan Georg Haeffner. His sons were John George, Jacob, Anthony and Frederick. Somewhere in this time period the spelling of the name was changed according to a book I have.
