I have recently come across the proof that her father was Jacob Hefner as well. Someone sent me a copy about him that was listed in some book. Anyway, you must be related to Angeline, Catherine's oldest daughter. WOW! This is the first time that I've had contact with someone from her family. I do have some information on Angeline and her husband, but it is very very vague. I am related to Catherine through Turley. Turley married Logan Govan Massey. They eventually moved to Erath County, Texas. They had six children; none of them are still living. Turley and Logan are buried in Exray Cemetery, Erath County, along with their grandson, Robert Wayne Massey (my half-uncle), who died in 1987, and their granddaughter Jewell Ellen Belle Massey, who was stillborn in 1937. Turley's brother, Reuben and his wife Catherine, also moved to Erath County and are buried a few miles down the road in another cemetery. However, I have only been able to find Reuben's grave, and not Catherine's. They never had any children.
My grandfather and some of his brothers ended up in New Mexico. A couple of them moved to Clovis, New Mexico, and my grandfather moved to Eunice, New Mexico. My grandfather was married three times: 1st to Rosa Fulfer, who was a member of the Fulfer family in Erath County; they are a well-to-do family in that county. He and Rosa had two children: Esteline who is still living in Erath County, I believe, and my uncle Robert. His wife and son live in Duncanville, about five miles from me. After my grandfather and Rosa divorced, he married a childhood sweetheart, but it was short-lived. He then married my grandmother, and had three children, two boys and a girl. I am the daughter of the youngest boy, and have a son of my own.
I have done a LOT of research on the various branches of my family, but Catherine's family and my great-great grandfather Abram Massey have driven me nuts for four years! Please email me and I will be glad to give you specific information.
