Today, I discovered a "Thelbert Hefner"....10 year old male....living in the household of T. Payne 34 TX and wife, Myrtle 34 AL....in Floyd Co., TX in 1920.

My question is: Would anyone know the relationship of "Payne" to "Hefner"? Or, is there one? I would like to find out if the story of our Thelbert being raised by White, until White died.....then, White's son, Willie, took Thelbert to raise...is true. Was the Payne household a temporary situation after White died?

Does anyone know about this family?

Thank you,
Shirley
