Hi Mike

Thanks for this information. The Haverons I am interested in lived at 45 Tully Rd, this is on cross roads on the road from Balamena - apparently the Shiels lived across the road.

Another reply I have had has cast light on the links between the Haverons and the Shiels. The 1911 census shows a Jennie( I think it should be Jeannie) Shiels living with the Haveron family and descibed as a niece. My grandmother was Rosemary Shiels and Jeannie was her cousin I think. I have photos of Jeannie in Scotland, no date but probably in the 1930s. And we always visited Jeannie when we went back to Scotland in the 1950's and 60's.

I am still very curious to find out about my grandfather Peter Mullen. It seems to me that he and Rosemary must have met through family/community contacts so I will carry on with my research!
