I too have some very very Orange kin and neither side talked to the other during their life time. I have a cousin O'Toole in Northern Larne that has just married an Orange fellow and Letters have crossed the seas to us not ever to speak to the girl again. I can understand as her grandfather was car bombed in the front of his house and none of us have gotten over it.
I wish ou all of the very best on your books. SAdly it is true about the Vietnam War and it was a war. There is little interest as of now. Sooner or later Hollywodd will discover some money to be made and make a film. FAbian Forte, the old old singer of sorts has a son Christian who writes many war movies. Who knows about the future?
To bad you couln't write a book on your family and their trials. Being an Irish Catholic is very hard anyplace. Thank you for all the information on your family. Everytime I think I have all the information that I need, along comes another Haveron or Hefferon. My cousin Eamons O"Toole started and I had planned to finish and he laughed at me. He told me I would never be finished. He is quite old now and very ill but without his help...as I said one side did not speak to the other side.
Marianne
