Thanks for the information. It was all very interesting, but my great-grandfather (John or John P. Heffernon) was from Limerick Co., Ireland. He was born around 1831-35 and came to the U.S. when he was around 5 years old with a couple by the name of Gallagher. He married a woman by the name of "Sarah C. Meyers" and they had five chhildren; John, James, Margeretha, Sadie and Mary. James A. married a woman by the name of Elizabeth Harness and my grandfather was born in Labette Co., Parsons, Kansas. Most of my fathers relatives died in Kansas. Any other information would be appreciated.
