Hi Mandy,

I recently came across the query that you posted in October of 1999 on the Genforum page about Abraham and Josephine Heffelfinger.

I've been researching the Heffelfingers of Northampton and Monroe Counties for about 25 years and have some information on this Abraham but have not been able to identify his parents. By the time of the 1850 census, Abraham had already left home and, at the age of 14, was working on the farm of Reuben Hunsicker and wife, Lydia, in Allen Twp., Northampton Co., PA. In 1870 Abraham and his wife and family were living in Lehigh Twp., Northampton Co., PA.

Abraham (13 Feb 1836-18 Sep 1876) and wife, Josephine (nee Anthony, 30 May 1838-28 Jun 1913) are both buried in St. Paul's (aka. Indianland) Church cemetery at Cherryville in Lehigh Twp., Northampton Co., PA. They had nine known children, six of which were baptized at St. Paul's Church. One of the nine children was Emma Jane Heffelfinger, born 4 Oct 1871 and baptized at St. Paul's Church on 12 Nov 1871.

Let me know if you are still researching this family. Perhaps between the two of us, we can figure out who Abraham's parents were.

Dale Berger
