Hi Sean
My wife is Heather Heenan. Her grandfather Peter Heenan was born in Kilcoo Parish, County Down, Ireland in 1875, as Peter Hennin. His father was Peter Heenan and his mother was Marg. Rogers. His grandfather was John Heenan from Clonduff Parish, County Down, Ireland.Peter Heenan and Marg. Rogers moved the family to Workington, England. There are family members still living there. My wife's grandfather Peter Heenan came to N.W. Ontario and worked as a Railroad engineer around 1910.He married Annie Priscilla Fawcett.Peter later got into politics and served from 1919 to 1945.He was the Minister of Labor & Minister of Lands and Forest. The Heenan Highway is named after him.He has the title of the Honourable Peter Heenan.
Peter Heenan (I) and Marg. Rogers had the following children:Mary Ann; John "Jack"; Peter & Nicholas.
Peter Heenan (II) and Annie Pawcett had the following children: Peter Fawcett; Ellen Mary Margaret; George Warren; Edna Gertrude & John Wilbrod.
John Wilbrod Heenan married Ruth Leslie and had the following children:Leslie; Peter; Heather & John.
Heather's brother in law has done a great genealogy record of him, which mostly covers Canada, with some information on Ireland.I feel all the Heenans in this area of Ireland are related.I will be glad to share what I have, if anyone is interested.
Stan Dowling, husband to Heather Heenan
