I am a Hedges descendant, but I don't know if this man is part of that family. I a new book I have on "Historic Georgetown - a Walking Tour" by Thomas J. Carrier, there is a photo of a house and the following information:
"Site A9: Nicholas Hedges House at 1069 Thomas Jefferson Street. Here is an unusual Federal-style house built on a lot also owned by Robert Peter. After Peter's death, his brother sold the lot in 1813 to Hicholas Hedges, who built this brick house sometime between 1815 and 1818."
There is further information on the house.
