Dear David,
Thank you so much for your quick reply, yes the Owlesbury seemed to good to be true. When you don't know where these places are and you are not sure if you have the right spelling or not, it becomes a little hard.
On his first child's birth certificate he wrote he came from Winchester, maybe a little later in life, and then when I got his death certificate it had more detailed information.
So now I will keep looking and see what I can find. It doesn't state date of birth at all or his parents so you do work a little blind and you sort of count back from his age at death.
But there are not many Hedges in Owlesbury that is for sure. Let's hope and keep up communications we never know our luck in a big city.
