James Heddens married Martha Vandiver in Preble County, Ohio on the 20th of June, 1824. They stayed in Preble County for at least 4 years.
James was born in abt. 1799 in Pennsylvania. Where? To whom? A biography on his son says that the surname was originally Hedden and that James added the 's' when he went to Ohio.
He and Martha had seven well-documented children, then died in Coffey County, Kansas
Has anyone anything on James Hedddens's parents, siblings, or birthplace, please?
