Hector & McLean - Louisiana Slave Agents

Am looking for any informtion on the company of Hector & McLean, New Orleans, Louisiana in the early 1800's who were slave agents...especially Hector. My husbands GGGGrandmother was a black slave named Silva or Silvia. She states in later census that she was born in Louisiana in about 1812. Have records of her being sold by her owner, Silas McDaniel in 1819 to Morgan Crier, Sr. for $550.00. Morgan Crier gave her to his son, John who took her to Texas. There she married John Ferdinand Webber, one of the early white settlers of Texas. Just wondering why she chose the last name of Hector and if they were the original owners. Any info would be appreciated. MaryEllen Briseno MEBris@aol.com
