In the 1850 census Jacob and Sarah(Shaffer) Heckert are listed as 41 years and he is a farmer. Their children are William, 17, my ancestor, Catherine, 13, Elizabeth, 11, Iasiah,9, Sarah,8, Henry,7, and Jacob,4. In the 1860 census Jacob is 51 and a widower. There is a Catherine, 22 and George, 31 Donney along with a C. William Donney, 3 months living in the same household. In the 1870 census Jacob is 62 and in the same household there is Kate, 33, keeping house and Priscilla Doney, 7 but no George or C. William. By the 1880 census Jacob is 70 and listed in the same household is Kate Doney, daughter, 43 and Priscilla, granddaughter, 17. The spelling of the names are the way they were written in the census. The age of a person depends on what month the census was taken. This is all the information I have but hope it helps a little. Helen Mackey
