My great-grandmother Katharina Barbara Luft was born April 20 1846 in Loffenau, Germany. Her mother was Luise Muller Luft b March 29 1805. Parents were George Adam Luft 11/22/1769 and Barbara HECKER born Jan 16 1774. Parents of Barbara were Johann Christoph Hecker and Maria Klara Mohrmann (no birthdates). Barbara Luft and her ancestors were all born in or around Loffenau. Katharina Barbara Luft emigrated to New York City in 1865. She later married Erhard Roede in 1867, he was a veteran of the American Civil War and served with the New York Volunteers 54th infantry, Hiram Barney Rifles.
