David 'Pete' Heck, 77, of Rogersville, Hawkins Co TN, died
Thursday, July 23, 2009, at his home after an extended
illness.
He went to be with the Lord, his family stated. Mr. Heck
was of the Baptist tradition of faith.
He retired from the Department of Transportation.
His family noted he was an avid gardener, was a loving
papaw to his grandchildren as well as all the children in
the community. He was loved by all that was fortunate to
have known him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and
Elizabeth Heck; a granddaughter; two great-grandsons; two
sisters, Georgie Tunnell and Marie Carter; and brothers,
Marion Heck, Andy Heck, and Kenneth Heck.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Inez Heck;
his children and their spouses, Donnie and Kathy Heck,
Deborah and Les Brown, and Timothy and Sharine Heck, all
of Rogersville, TN, Karon and Jimmy Wallen of Greeneville,
TN, and Johnny and Rhonda Heck of Rogersville, TN;
seventeen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren;
three sisters, Angeline Southerland of Bulls Gap, TN,
Sylvia Carter of Rogersville, TN, and Edna Radar of
Greeneville, TN; a brother, Lawrence Heck of Greeneville,
TN; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend,
Taylor Hodges of Greeneville, TN.
The family will receive friends 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday,
July 25, 2009, at Colboch-Price Funeral Home in Rogersville.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 p.m. in
the funeral home chapel.
A committal service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday
afternoon, July 26, 2009, in Providence (County Line)
Cemetery.
