In the late 1970's, a gentleman named Archibald Heck came to visit my father in California. Archibald wrote a series of books on the Heck family as descendants of Daniel David Heck. It seems that there were about 8 books in the series which were self published by Archibald. My brother has a set. I expect Archibald has since passed away as he was an older fellow then.
I don't know if this is the same "book" you were looking for.
