I read your 4 September 2006 letter with considerable interest. Although most of the Augustin Hebert dit Jolicoeur web sites that I visited list the parents of Augustin as Guillaume Hebert and Marguerite Meunier. I could never establish the connection. Now I know why. There is none.

You stated in your letter that "Augustin Hebert dit Jolicoeur came in Nouvelle-France abt. 1637 as a soldier." What regiment or group was he associated and what were they doing in Nouvelle-France at this time? Do you know the type or name of the ship upon which he made the trans-Atlantic crossing?

I have heard conflicting information on the time and place of Augustin's death. Has this issue been resolved? There is a Jean Hebert listed as one of the burials in the excavated cemetery beneath the Pointe-a-Calliere Museum in Montreal. Is this person the same as Augustin Hebert dit Jolicoeur?

Many years ago I found a bronze plaque attached to the side of a building that identified the spot as being the former site of the Robert Cavelier and Adrianne Duvivier farm. I could never find it again. Do you know where that plaque is located?
