I made a quick trip to the Centre d'Études Acadiennes in Moncton today. Could not find anything more on Rémi Hébert but I found some on his wife Marguerite Chase.
Marguerite was deceased when Célina married on Jan 18, 1881.
Marguerite was the daughter of:
Abraham Chase born circa 1795 in England,
(son of Abraham Chase and Nannette Rose)
married August 21, 1820 in Memramcook, N.B. to
Marie Rose Girouard, born circa 1797
(daughter of Joseph Marin Girouard and Marguerite Cormier)
(reference genealogie des 37 familles by Stephen White
page 133 and 134)
Stephen White was busy on the phone, I could not get a chance to speak to him. I'll try to get more info on Rémi Hébert the next time I'm at the Université.
