Earlier this month I flew through the area and stopped in at Calvery Cem. I couldn't find a few graves, and lucked out with the sexton showing up.

Turns out he knows of few Hebenstreit's in the area. He asked if I knew any of them and was surprised that I do not. He told me I look like them!

Left a message on Don's phone; I am sure it seemed odd. But I was flying through and zig zagging through.

Had a mishap with a tire (going flat and no gas stations with working air - in New Athens). Tried the next town down the road. 'Lenzburg', no stations there, so I stopped in the local bar in the early afternoon to ask about. They sent me to the sign shop across the road, and the man graciously filled the tire.

Went back to the bar to finish my 'smirnoff ice' and leave coin for the bartender to give the man a beer. When came in a young man who asked what family, and turns out he grew up with a great grand son of Walter Hebenstreit out of Millstedt. Another fella knows the fella in Beld(?) with the distributorship (Bud).

It was a pleasant stop. Thinking back, I wonder why the tire was going flat, she was ok before, and is still going fine.
