Jack, I have no particular information about Karl Wilhelm Hebestreit (your spelling?). My information comes from the Weissker Familie book I mentioned, and from the work of Herbert Hebenstreit, "Deutsches Geschlechterbuch," Vol. 206, p. 349-364. The Hebenstreit branch to which he and I belong was situated in Neustadt/Orla until the late 17th century. I have not looked up Eisleben to see if it's anywhere near Neustadt/Orla. There is a Hebenstreit website(<>) which might be of assistance, as well as a mailing list on There is also info on Pantaleon Hebenstreit at <>. Dr. Hebenstreit has sent me additional material, but I find neither Karl Wilhelm nor Pantaleon in it.
