David: In my previous posting,I neglected to include a son of William Hebb, the Rev. War soldier: Thomas Hebb, whose son Thornton F. Hebb (1st cousin to your William Poole Hebb)was married twice, 1st to Catherine Sanders and 2nd to Mary Ann Hebb (a sister to your William Poole Hebb's wife Margaret Lipscomb).
Both William Poole Hebb and Thornton F. Hebb were living around Rowlesburg, WV in 1860 - they both later moved to the vicinity of St. George in Tucker County, WV.
Margaret (Lipscomb) Hebb and Mary Ann (Lipscomb) Hebb were among the 63 grandchildren of Ambrose Lipscomb. Another of those 63 was Jacob Moon Biggs of Garrett Co., MD (his mother was Catherine Lipscomb, daughter of Ambrose). I have a copy of a very funny letter written by Thornton Hebb to Jacob Biggs in 1866.
Probably more than you want to know - but there it is.
