After the marriage to Martha Ann TOLES, Joseph Jefferson HEATON remarried Martha J. HELM on 6 November 1887 in Carroll Co., Arkansas. Several allied families went to Carroll County in the same period. Does anyone know the nature of the attraction? At one time, there had been public domain land available in Crawford Co., IL and these families did take advantage of that. I do not have a cause of death or date of death for Joseph's first wife. She was born 6 June, 1839, Ohio & married Mr. Heaton 5 October, 1854 in Jasper Co., IL where both families were living. Joseph was also born in Ohio, 10 January, 1835. He had eight siblings, all born in Ohio and there was another, also named Joseph, 17 May 1825.
