Currently researching the name HEATON in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Lancashire, England.
I have a James HEATON b.31/08/1800 in Ashton-in-Makerfield, bapt.21/09/1800 at St. Thomas, m.19/09/1824 Esther Prescot at St. Oswald, Winwick, d.17/03/1839, buried 20/03/1739 at St. Thomas.
James was the son of Samuel HEATON. I think Samuel married a Jane Cunliff in 1792. Samuel and Jane had 8 children:
Betty 1792 - 1792
John 1793
Samuel 1796
Mary 1798
James 1800 - 1839
Hannah 1802
Thomas 1803
Nancy 1805
Samuel's wife, Jane died in 1805. Samuel may have then remarried to a Betty (nee. Littler).
