pam elizabeth heaton was born in nc. and 1825 sounds right they only had four children in pickens sc.and by the way sarah jane was the first child on the list. yes she was a cherokee and was full blooded. just look at the picture. a picture is worth a thousand words. she never lived in pickens untill william paschal o'shields brought her to pickens sc in 1857. with my research elizabeth heaton o'shields was buried in nc. in the picture 1923 doc. heaton he is sitting there with his family. because the family of william paschal o'shields is very much doc heaton's family that he married in william paschal o'shields was no kin to doc heaton this was part of elizabeth's heaton o'shields family.the heaton family moved the same as other families. a lots of heatons lived in pickens sc. as the o'shields lived in spartanburg laurens union easley anderson pickens sc. but just about all of them came from other places. it is belived that doc was a brother to elizabeth heaton. which really can't be proved but i think that he was. but even if he was not he stilkl was in that family. pam may God Bless You i hope this has helped you with your research.
