Following article appears in the Feb 23, 1793 Knoxville Gazette:
"January 26: Thomas Heaton and Anthony Bledsoe, son of Col. Anthony Bledsoe, were fired on near Nashville, on the north side of Cumberland [River] and both shot through the body; they are yet living."
This was in long list of "Indian News: a list of murders and depredations committed in Mero District between the 16th and 23rd of January".
Not my family, just providing this in the spirit of research!
