Looking for information on Heaton family from South Carolina and possibly North Carolina. My gr-gr grandmother was Elizabeth Heaton (b: abt.1825), who married William O'Shields. They had the following children: Isaac, Sarah Jane, Milas, Joseph Allen. I believe that William had 2 older children named Eliphus and William. I have been told that Elizabeth was full blooded Cherokee. They lived in South Carolina, but I was told by some that Elizabeth was born in North Carolina.
