I have a Samuel Abbott (1796-1880) who married an Elizabeth Heatherly. The information I have has Elizabeth born about 1799 in Kentucky. She died in 1852 on the Oregon Trail, possibly near the Snake River. Additionally, Samuel and Elizabeth's son, William Y. Abbott, died on this trip near the Platte River near Fort Kearney in Nebraska. Any information regarding Elizabeth and her family would be greatly appreciated.
