James William Manning (1830-1892) married Jane E. Hurst (1843-1899) on 9 Jan 1860 in Littleton NH. James' parents and place of birth are unknown. Jane's parents were from Dukinfield, Cheshire, England. Family tradition says James may have been born in "Scotland," but I suspect this is a misunderstanding; he is more likely to have originated in Spotland, Lancashire. Any information welcome.
