My paternal grandmother's name was Lenora Jane Hearne. Her parents were Elijah Stephen Hearne (b 1890) and Zelma Wells. As best I can tell, Elijah Stephen Hearne was the son of Benjamin J Hearne (1857) and Anzanetta L (maiden name unknown) and was born in Alabama and moved to Milam Co, TX some time after 1900.
The 1860 census lists a Benjamin Hearne in Russel Co, AL with about the right birthdate as the son of Elija(h) and Caroline Hearne. The 1900 census lists Benjamin Hearn of Milam Co, TX as having a father from GA and mother from SC. Elija Hearne (abt 1824) is listed in the 1860 census as having been born in GA.
If anyone knows of any information that might help me track down more information regarding Elijah Hearne, born about 1824 in Georgia, I would be most appreciative.
