Thomas Healy -1900's NYC restaurateur
Stephanie Healy of Galway, daughter of Jack & Cathlone, is looking for descendants of her grand-uncles THOMAS(who arrived in NYC from Ireland in the early 1890s) or his brothers JOHN, PATRICK & MARTIN (who joined him there).Thomas was a famous restaurateur before Prohibition.After that he was involved in real estate & was responsible for Pomander Walk in Manhattan, 94th-95th Streets.He had 7 children, and 2 of them, HERBERT & ARTHUR, were artists.He died in 1927.Martin, who died in 1956, was married to DELLA & had a son, HAROLD & 2 daughters, KATHLEEN & BERNICE (Butler).
In a NY Times aricle about Pomander Walk from 1/8/78 there is a quote from Thomas' grandson, GERALD Healy.
Stephanie will be visiting NY in October and would love to look up some relatives if she can.
