We have Chester Healy, son of Justin and Catherine (Connolly) Healy, born 30 July 1843, christened 23 Sept 1843 in the Shipton-Melbourne Anglican Church, Richmond County, Quebec. [Source: Births (Marriages) (Deaths) in the District of St. Francis of the Eastern Townships of Quebec 1815-79 (Catholic not included), compiled by the members of the Eastern Townships Genealogical Society] Witnesses were William Miller and G. Healy (probably Gilbert, Justin's father)

Catherine died 21 Sept 1843, age 36, and is buried in St. Anne's Cemetery, Richmond, Richmond County, Quebec. These facts were researched by us , including a visit to the cemetery.

The following information came to us from a descendent of Chester through his son, Rupert Curtis Healy. This person says that Chester's children were born under the name of Wells, as Chester was known as Fred Wells during his marriage to Lillian Boyer. He was married first to Lucinda S. Healy(?) 5 April 1864, Freeport, Stephenson, IL and divorced 9 Nov 1867, (record at Delaware County, IA), married (2nd) Fanny E. Dunham, 3rd Lillian Hurtley Boyer 24 Nov 1878.

If you wish, we can check with the correspondent and ask if we can give you his name and address, but this will take a few days because we do not have his e-mail address and will have to send him a letter by regular mail. He no doubt has more information on Chester than we do.

I am descended from Chester's older brother , Gilbert, who settled in Richmond County around 1810 and some of his descendents are still there.

Ken Healy
