I recently purchased the subject studio portraits in Alameda, CA. The earlier photo, stamped "W. SCHILLER & CO. PHOTO. SUPPLIES ST. LOUIS, MO." on the back, is identified:
"Rita Ellen Heald"
Age 16 years
The later photo, taken by a Havana, IL studio (name embossed on mount not legible), is identified on the back:
"Rita Heald Potts
In both cases, the name was written in green ballpoint ink by the same hand, I assume that of a subsequent generation.
I found a Rita L. [sic] Heald, whom I believe is the individual depicted in the photos, listed in the 1910 Census data for Havana, Mason Co., IL. She was born about 1890 in IL, the daughter of Ellen (maiden name unknown), born about 1861 in IL. At the time of the 19 Apr 1910 enumeration, Rita was living with her stepfather, Charles Pulling, her mother, two older brothers, and a younger half-sister, the family residing at 224 [E.?] Dearborn.
Judging by the labeling on the second photo, Rita married someone named Potts and had at least one child, however, I have been unable to find her listed in any other genealogy databases.
