Hi, keep banging that head, one day we'll break through or die trying! ;-)
These Blount County Headrick lines are tied together through old genealogies, which don't cite sources like today's books; yet, the old original sources aren't always available. So, when you come across a "known" Headrick family, like James HEADRICK + Minerva STEPHENSON/STINSON, what do you really know? These lines are so tangled that I've begun to take apart the families and put them together again. So far, I've avoided giving Elizabeth (dau. of James and Minerva) a husband. I want to figure out how they knew which Elizabeth was which. If I were you, I'd study this (and each likely) Elizabeth intensely, seeking original sources.
My ears pricked up at the SUTTON/HEADRICK tie, but only because I have my own weird little puzzle piece. One old Peter HEADRICK materialized out of thin air and married Susan SUTTON on 19 April 1840 MURRAY CO., GA. The couple then disappeared into the thin air from whence they came. The date of 1840 is interesting because it was only 2 years after the Cherokee removal ~ there were very few Headricks in Murray County at that time. One of the earliest Headrick deeds in Murray County is Peter Headrick or Hedrick ~ possibly the same man who married Susan Sutton. You might want to file this couple away as a clue, since Headricks tend to be so clannish. Maybe Susan is a sibling or cousin to your Sutton...
Sorry I couldn't help on your specific couple.
