William,
Thank you. I sent to the Spruance Library in Bucks Co. PA. They informed me the marriage is in a book. It only states name and date the license/bond was taken out. Supposedly, this can be obtained at PA Archives. I was also told that it shows the name of Sarah HADLEY--and not Headley. Of course, this could be a transcription error in spelling of a very old record. It is highly likely that Joseph White Jr. was first m. to Sarah Hutchinson/Hutchings (1757 or 1759). This is from the Coons Family Bible, which was owned by Zachariah Robert White and Martha "Nan" Nance Coons White. I have been trying to place my George White in this group of Whites. I have learned there is a lot of confusion oer them. My George d. 17 Feb 1824 in Casey Co. KY. One Thomas Hutchings/Hutchinson was one of the Executors to his will.
Jonathan Flournoy of NC was an assignee to the land of George White in KY. It would make sense to me that Joseph White Sr. and Jr. likely got land in the military district of KY and TN for serving in Rev. War. It would also seem likely that they either sold this land to land speculators--such as John Flournoy---or gave land to descendents. I am convinced my George was s/o Joseph White Jr. and Sarah Hutchings/Hutchinson. He was b. abt. 1761-1765 in NC. I am beginning to think the one m. to Betsy Williams was son of Joseph Sr. Just can't prove it without papers---and NC Archives does not have that many left.

Thanks for your reply.
Shari
