He is buried at Aurora Cemetery, Alabama. The cemetery is behind the Buffington Methodist Church. Wife Malissa died May 30, 1897 in Guntersville, Alabama after being thrown from a buggy driven by son Frank on way to see an eye specialist. She is buried beside Daniel at Aurora.
