Thank you for posting this Benjamin Head family information - it answers several questions. One minor point: the surname Marden is actually Marders, for all Marden listed in the post: Jefferson Co, Kentucky, Marriage Book 1, page 170: Harrison Marders married Sarah L Head, daughter of Ben Head, consent by certificate; license issued 29 March 1826, returned 30 March 1826. An Act passed by the 38th Session of the General Assembly for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, January 29, 1830, appointed James Hite, Benjamin Head, Nathan Marders, and Harrison Marders, among 50 men to be Trustees of the Kentucky Orphan Asylum [Orphans' Home] in Jefferson County. Marion Co, Missouri, Deed Book C, page 190: At the February 1834 term of the Marion County (Missouri) Circuit Court, Abijah E Abernathy filed a petition for partition of a city lot in Palmyra, Marion Co, Missouri, jointly owned by Abijah E Abernathy and Harrison Marders, deceased leaving infant heirs James A Marders and Harriet J Marders. Family Bible of Jacob Hite and Elizabeth his wife: James I Hite, son of Jacob & Elizabeth W Hite, married Harriet Jane Marders on 20th September 1849. 1850 Census, Kentucky, Jefferson Co, District 1, page 190, on 19 Aug 1850: James I Hite, age 24, male, farmer, born Kentucky Harriet J Hite, age 21, female, born Kentucky Missouri Supreme Court Case 18 Mo 464, Hite vs Thompson: In 1853, James I Hite and wife Harriet Jane Hite, daughter and sole surviving heir of Harrison Marders, filed suit against William H Thompson and Joseph N Thompson to recover possession of the city lot in Palmyra, Marion Co, Missouri. (Petition was denied.) Hope this helps with the spelling of the name Marders. Again, many thanks, Jim Notify Administrator about this message?
