The descendanents of William and Sarah Head (nee Ellis)who arrived in Sydney, Australia on 30 August 1838 and settled in the then far flung Port Phiilip District of New South Wales (now the City of Melbourne, capital of the State of Victoria in Australia) on 1 January 1839 have just celebrated 170 years of family settlement in Australia. There are over 3,200 blood descendents of these two young pioneers. We descendents live throughout Australia and a small number of descendents live in the USA via Walter "Wally" Head (great grandson of our pioneers - son of Walter Head and grandson of our William's eldest son, also named William, born in Australia in 1839))who settled in San Francisco about 100 years ago.
Our William Head was born in August 1817 at Benenden, Kent, England. He was the son of William Head (christened 4 June 1786 at Cranbrook, Kent - born at Warbleton, E Sussex) and Jane Clout (born 1797 at Hawkshurst, Kent). Our William's grandfather was Richard Head (christened 1 January 1740 at Arlington, E Sussex) and his grandmother was Mary (nee Staples). Our William's great grandparents were Henry Head (17 May 1707) and Mary (nee Trangmere).
I am looking for names and contacts for Wally Head's descendents AND any information on relatives of our Head family line which appears to be from Kent and Sussex.
