Thanks for the reply. I have read that William Head Sr and family were from Chester co SC and that William ead Jr was born in 1770 but I don't know if that is correct or if e was brn in 1770 in SC but I am fairly sure he was. I know William Head and famiy went to Wilkes co Ga probably in the 1780's. William Head Jr and Henrietta "Ritter" Ray married about 1792 since their fitst child was born in 1793 if I remeber right. They married in Elbert co Ga which was in th northeast part of Wilkes co Ga and was formed from Wilkes co Ga in 1791 or they married in Wilkes co Ga and the area they were livingin became Elbert co Ga or they went to Ebert co Ga. I beleive they were living in Wilkes co whe Elbert co was fored and then they were living in Elbert co Ga. My ancestor was George Ray. I believe there is a chance that Henrietta Ray was his daighter but I am not sure. She and William Head Jr were always living near Geoge. George bought land from William Head Jr and Henrietta in 1798 in Jackson co ga fairly near Elbert co Ga. They allwent to Clarke co Ga after 1801 and then to Jasper co Ga. William Head Jr and Henrietta went to Monroe co Ga in the 1720's or 1730's. William Head Jr died in the 1830's. He had goe to Alabama to visit two of his daughters and died on the trip there or back. What is interesting is one or both of his daughter died on the same day according to records posted on the internet but I don't know if that is correct. Henrietta Ray died about 1845 in Monroe co Ga if I remember right. She was living next door to MarkRay who was the son of George Ray. IF Henrietta was not George's daughte I wouldsay she was related somehow. Maybe you coul send me some info about the Head family I can try to piece this thing together. I can not find a marriage record for William Head Jr and Henrietta Ray. Thankks, Ross
