I would greatly appreciate any further follow up on the England to Isle of Wight Colony, Hazelwood link. The major wall I and others have come up against, is the burning of the court house, during the Revolutionary War and the loss of so many important records. As you pointed out, George, along with a few other mens names, appear time after time, generation after generation. Many of these names were given without any knowledge of ancestral use. There is also a sea faring connection. I was in the Navy. My uncle Troy, my father's brother, was a Merchant Marine in WWII. There are a few other's that I know of. Though I've never investigated it, there's a 50-50 chance that Capt. Hazelwood of the Exxon Valdez, is in some way related, as I have found only 2 branches of the Hazelwood line, coming to the new world. One was Richards line and the other, was a Hazelwood family, that immigrated to New England, in the early 1800's. I suppose they merge farther back, as the Hazelwood family appears the the Doomsday book and their is documentation of a request, early in England's written history, to the King, asking permission to crenelate the Hazelwood Manor House, effectivly making it Hazelwood Castle. Though other circumstances have drawn my attention from my family genealogy, I have not lost interest and appreciate any updates I can get. Thanks !
