This James Dobson does appear in my family history as Susan Hazelton's first husband. The Dobson children appear in the 1850 PA Salem Twp in the Hartford household with their mother and her second husband Edmund Harford. This part is clear in my records.
What I'm seeking is Susan's ancestry of Hazeltons. Do you have any information for the Hazelton ancestry in Ireland? It's looking like her father was Abram/Abraham Hazelton and mother Sara Gilpin. Do you personally have confirmation of that?
I know she came from Tyrone, N Ireland, but I don't know how many Hazeltons migrated here, and we know how common a name Susan is.
