I am tracing my family tree through the Hazeltons, who moved down into the Maldon area (Southminster, Asheldham, Mayland, Tillingham, Bradwell-on-Sea) in the mid-19th century.
Joseph Hazelton, born c.1827, Colchester, son of John, married Sarah Ann Dobson in Asheldham in 1852. Their son John set up a Tillingham-based carrier and draper's business.
I would be interested to hear from anyone with any further information.
