Many, many thanks for your posting. I take it then that I am correct that your gfather was Myrtle's first husband. I would appreciate it if you could e-mail me contact info on the Donahues as you suggest. You can go to my private e-mail on genforum. Also if you're in MD, a good library should have access to the Baltimore Sun historical database, or America's Historical Newspapers database where I found the entry. Her picture is included in the article.
She is important because she was one of the few female radio operators in the Navy/CG and apparently the only woman electrician in the CG. Only 2 other women CG recruits are known. The Navy had several hundred who did everything from work on munitions, to radio work, to clerical.
