Thank you Constance for the Hayward information. I checked it out and found (from his grandson age 85)that Jackson had a first family, the 1860 Cedar Mo. Census family, he went to war and when he returned he could never find them. He remarried in 1866 to Catherine Mizer and started another family.
Emeline Hayward married a Joseph Looney/luney
Brother Martin H Hayward married Polly Powell moved his family to Oregon then Ca.
Susanah was the mother.
William M Hayward might be the fathers name as there are a William M (Michael) in every family. Looneys, Martins,etc.
There might be more children for Susanah as Rutha A (1st)John Martin (2nd)Joseph Glasin.
and maybe a William D that married Mary Wilson.
Still keeping a look out for answers.
