I did not know there was a daughter named Abigail. My ancestor's name was John Wales. It says in the Wyckoff genealogy that he was born in 1828 near Buffalo, New York. I believe that Abigail died between his birth in 1828 and c. 1830. Arnold must have married Eliza Dutton about then. He needed someone to take care of his children. She was a spinster and a cousin I believe.I would like to see the land records of Eire County, New York to verify Arnold's presence there.
