Hi Donna, Do you have a confirmed paper trail back to England? As you probably already know, the Hayward surname is an occupational one and therefore many different people who are not related will have that same surname. The only way to 100% ensure that the Hayward surname that you are researching is the same one that another Hayward researcher is investigating, is to have a ydna test done. The price of these tests are presently dropping with 'specials' and 'group orders' and they do cut to the chase when investigating ancestry, either you are related to a particular line or you are not. This is the new way of genealogy, as in the future people will ask if you can prove your descendency with both the paperwork and YDNA Testing. It will come as a surprise and shock to some when all their hard earned research ends up as trash because of a false lead from an unconfirmed source. Cheers and salutations for the holiday season.
